How JSON Formatting, Validation, and Tree Parsing Works
JSON is an open data-interchange format composed of two core structures: key-value collection pairs (objects) and ordered lists of values (arrays).
1. Lexical Tokenization of JSON
When a validator parses JSON text, a lexer breaks raw strings into discrete tokens: structural punctuation ({, }, [, ], :, ,), literals (true, false, null), strings enclosed in double quotes, and numbers.
Common syntax errors include trailing commas, unescaped control characters, and single quotes (which are illegal in standard JSON specification).
